During European Football Championship Euro 2012 which took place in Poland and Ukraine the site of the former Nazi German concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz  was visited by footballers from England, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. They did not hide their emotions which one can see in a short film shot during their visit

The sound of the shofar gave the signal to begin the 21st March from the gate with the inscription "Arbeit macht frei" at the former German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz

A special Memorial Train from Slovakia arrived at Auschwitz along a historical route commemorating the 70th anniversary of the deportation of the first group of Jewish women from Slovakia by the Nazis to Auschwitz

A publication that presents twenty-two drawings done by an anonymous prisoner which were foud hidden in a bottle in the foundations of one of the barracks at Auschwitz II-Birkenau.

On the occasion of this years’ anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi German concentration camp Auschwitz, a unique relic was presented – the only surviving gas chamber door from crematorium no. V, which was blown up by the SS during the final evacuation of the camp.

At a new temporary exhibition at the Auschwitz Memorial you can see many items belonging to people, the vast majority of whom were Jews, deported by Germans to Auschwitz

67th anniversary of the liberation of auschwitz

During the ceremony, a unique relic was presented: the only preserved door to a gas chamber, deriving from one of the crematoriums, blown up by SS members at the end of the final evacuation of the camp

Forbidden Art is the title of a new exhibition and an international conference on art made illegally in Auschwitz which were organized at the Auschwitz Memorial
